do you recycle?
do you recycle electronics?

why bother

Why Bother?

Unwanted electronics are piling up in landfills. This doesn’t make sense because most of the parts – steel, glass, copper, aluminum, plastics and precious metals – can be recovered and reused to make new products. Also, lots of electronic equipment like computers, printers, and televisions can be reused cutting down on the amount of waste that is produced.

The goal of the OES program is to keep more of these electronics from ending up in landfills and to encourage more reuse and recycling opportunities.

PostHeaderIcon The E-Waste Problem

The amount of electronic products discarded globally has skyrocketed recently, with 20-50 million tonnes generated every year. If such a huge figure is hard to imagine, think of it like this - if the estimated amount of e-waste generated every year would be put into containers on a train it would go once around the world!
